Reducing
Suspension Time
A
client came to the firm after he had been charged with a violation of
Pennsylvania § 1543(a) - driving on a suspended license. The client
was due to get his driving privileges restored in five months - but if
he was convicted on the § 1543(a) charge - his license would be suspended
for an entire additional year - seventeen months instead of just five.
We were able to negotiate a favorable arrangement with the Commonwealth,
whereby the client entered a guilty plea to a very minor offense and paid
a fine, and the Commonwealth dismissed the § 1543(a) charge completely.
As a result, no additional suspension time was added, and the client was
able to drive again five months later.
